The Mount Zero Olive grove is situated at the base of Mt Zero and Mt Stapleton at the northern end of the Grampians National Park. This area is well known for its dramatic land form, craggy peaks and massive sandstone cliffs that contrast with the flat and open farmland surrounding the national park where the Mount Zero olive grove lies. This area is also recognized as a wonderful wildflower area in late winter and spring and our farm is a great starting point for the walks, famous rock climbing and bouldering.
At the Mount Zero olive grove our olive trees are looking very healthy and happy. They have just spent a long cold wet winter in a state of lethargy preparing for their budding, flowering and fruiting over the next three seasons. The olive tree, like other plants is governed by the four seasons.
The Grampians Thryptomene tea tree has been flowering heavily since July both next door in the National Park and on our olive grove. We have been busy distilling the flowers and leaves from the thryptomene plants growing on our farm to use as natural plant based perfumes in The Girl and the Olive skincare range.
